A 1.0-litre version and an AMT variant are also available. Renault Kwid pricing starts at Rs 3.18 lakh and goes upto Rs 5.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)


Maruti Suzuki BalenoARAI certified: 23.87kpl


Maruti’s Baleno is a luxury hatchback that is roomy and well-equipped. It comes with a Smart Hybrid Technology to improves the fuel efficiency. Baleno is powered by a 90hp, 1.2-litre K12C DualJet engine. Baleno engine mated with the Smart Hybrid Technology which utilizes a battery returns a mileage of 23.87kmpl. This improves its fuel economy over the previous K12B-powered Maruti Baleno, which gets 21.01kpl. Maruti has fixed the price for Baleno from Rs 5.98 lakh to Rs 9.30 lakh (ex- showroom Delhi)


Maruti Swift – ARAI certified:   23.76kpl


The Maruti Suzuki Swift now shares its 90hp K12N petrol engine with idle-start stop technology and 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, thanks to a recent redesign. The mileage numbers for the peppier hatchback’s powertrain options are marginally lower – 23.2kpl and 23.76kpl for the manual and AMT, respectively. Its price is from Rs 5.73 lakh to Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).


Maruti Suzuki DzireARAI certified: 21.21kpl

Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the best selling sedan in India. One of the main reason for the high sale numbers is the excellent mileage offered by this vehicle. Dzire is also one of the best mileage petrol cars in India which is powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine. It produces 83 bhp of power and uses a comparatively lightweight frame. It’s not surprising that the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso has identical ARAI efficiency figures to the Celerio and Wagon R. They share the same 68hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine. The higher-spec VXI and VXI+ variants (which have 14-inch rims) have a little higher 21.7kpl rating. The cheaper models have a 21.4kpl rating.
